THIS 1942 BSA FROM A 1942 CONTRACT C12424 WAS PLACED LATE 1941
THE UNIT MARKINGS ARE FOR 156 INDEPENDENT BRIGADE AS A TRIBUTE TO TROOPER DENIS COLLIER WHO I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING A YEAR BEFORE HIS DEATH . HE DROPPED 18TH SEPTEMBER 1944.. WAS SHOT FROMA WELBIKE ! AND BECAME A POW.
THE 1942 BSA’S HAD A MASSIVE CHANGE OF PARTS AS FULL PANNIER EQUIPMENT ISSUED THAT YEAR . ALSO 2ND PATTERN BASH PLATE . FLAT REAR GUARD AND MANY MINOR ITEMS .
THIS ENGINE FROM 1944 WAS FOUND TO BE A FULL WORKSHOP REBUILD IN 50’S AND IS STD BSA PISTON IN N.O.S BORE WITH N.O.S HEAD . ITS VERY QUIET.
THE SADDLE COVERS ARE PERIOD AND REAR HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED . FIELD STAND AND ALL PARTS ARE GENUINE WW2 .
FORKS ARE N.O.S -IT RIDES BEAUTIFULLY .
THE LEVER SET IS CLASSIC BSA FOR MID WAR GIVEN ME MANY YEARS AGO BY MY FRIEND KEVIN BROWN ( ME BSA )
THE ENGINE IS A THING OF BEAUTY ! AMAL 276/C 1B WAS PREPPED BY PETE THE MECHANIC AKA MOLEY !
AT SHOWS THE REAR NUMBER PLATE IS REMOVED AND SGHE LOOKS AS IT SHOULD LOOK FOR MID WAR WITH DIV & UNIT MARKINGS AND CONVOY LIGHT .
